Alarm clocks

Unfortunately I have to get up every morning and go to work and occasionally need the assistance of an alarm clock. I have a Nakamichi Soundspace 3 that has the best alarm function Ive ever had. His and her's units CD/Radio/Alarm alarm function. I need a new one because the alarm button on mine stopped working. There were several flaws with these systems and it looks like Nakamichi stopped making them.

Any recommendations on a nice alarm clock / cd combo?

Not much help, but a good story-
a buddy of mine years ago had the best freakin alarm clock I've ever seen. It looked like several sticks of dynamite with a timer on it that was the clock. To turn off the alarm you had to throw it across the room!

I have a smallish battery powered one that updates via satellite. I take it with me when I travel and it is always on the right time zone and I know that it will work. I hate staying in a hotel and figuring out the dam alarm clock. (Assuming that it works.)
Power outages don't hurt it. I like it.

What kind of places are you staying in that don't have a "wake-up" call??

When traveling, I've been using the cell phone. Also automatically updates local time. I have a few saved for different places that I go to that allow me enough travel time to get to the particular office from the place I'm staying (always try to stay in the same general local - get to know what restaurants to go to/avoid).
Cheap POS for home though.
The wife get's up over an hour before me, so it wakes me up, and just by hearing what she's doing, I can gauge how much longer I have before I have to get up.

yep wife is up first and the dog gets her up every morning one hour before she has to leave ........GOOOOOOOD DOOOGGIE

I have one of the self setting ones,it's great not having to set it EVER:sifone: My lab also wakes me up about 15 mins before the alarm goes off.Really sucks on the weekend:boxing_smiley::biggrinjester:

I'm with Tantrum. We have 3 alarm settings on our (radio, CD and soundscape).

I like having the 3 options. I get up on one alarm, Rob on another and then there's the miscellaneous one.

There are several out there Tantrum. We don't use ours for anymore than an alarm. While the radio stays on when it goes off, the rest of set to off after they go off but we like the options.

alarm clock??? I replace at least one of mine every 6 months or so. I am NOT a morning person, have one at each end of my room, set on an annoying radio station turned to 11, that way I actually have to get out of bed to smash the snooze button, the only good thing about mornings is that they keep afternoons from sucking really bad.....

I don't want them to know when I am up. You have to keep them guessing. Especially in Salt Lake City. ;)

Wife wakes me up with a coffee in bed...

Trying to talk her into waking me with a little Oration, but the coffee works for now...

Tantrum, we use The iHome 'click-here'

Feature dual alarms, auto time set, battery back-up, iPod PLAYS & CHARGES  (nice instead of remembering or worrying about plugging iPod into USB computer), AM/FM radio, other normal nonsense, but it is a nice alarm clock .. if there is such a thing!?! LOL :D ((BTW, I spent $89 or $99 for mine  :( ))
