Commentary—Support Our Troops Amplifies Memorial Day

People like the idiots in Congress? They call them gaffes, I call them idiots who should not have any authority.

Squad members Ilhan Omar and Cori Bush delete Memorial Day tweets after confusing holiday with Veterans Day

Taking to X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, Omar wrote, "On #MemorialDay, we honor the heroic men and women who served our country."

"We owe them more than our gratitude - they have more than earned access to quality mental health services, job opportunities, housing assistance, and the benefits they were promised," she continued, showing that she clearly missed the day being about deceased soldiers and was speaking for the ones still alive.

A similar gaffe was made by Bush in her post, where she wrote, "This #MemorialDay & every day, we honor our veterans in St. Louis."

"We must invest in universal health care, affordable housing, comprehensive mental health services, and education & economic opportunities for our veterans as we work to build a world free of war and violence," she added.
