Finally, the house is done.

About a year and a half ago I started a thread asking about a fireplace for our new house that we were building. I got several responses the were very helpful. These responses guided me towards several products that I wasn't aware of. I was able to see products that exceeded what I was looking for.

There were several who replied such as Mrs. P, Chris Sunkin, a couple of my neighboring Oklahoma buddies, and many more that I can't remember. Forgive me for not remembering everyone that replied. Unfortunately I cannot access that old thread to thank each and every one of you by name. That was my original intent.

Chris pointed to a friend of his that carried the product that I ended up buying. Unfortunately I did not buy from his friend, but that helped me find a person locally that carried the same product. Actually turned out to be a very good customer of mine. I didn't even realize that he sold these products but found him through a dealer search on the website Chris recommended.

This project took about 18 months from the time we broke ground until we moved in. Longer than that when you consider the time we had in clearing the property. This is the first home I have every built myself and I can tell you it will be my last. I have no regrets from taking on this project but have no desire to do it again. We ended up with a home that exceeds anything I thought I would own in my lifetime. Trying to run a business and take on this process is more than I care to handle again. Period....

I'll attach a couple of pics of the fireplace.

Thanks again to those who helped point me in the right direction. We have a great fireplace that heats our home far more effeciently than I could imagine. I love it! I don't have to run the Heat Pump much at all. The amount of money it is saving us is substantial to say the least. Our electric bills so far are half what I expected.

Thanks again all....

Buck

Quite a step up and no more worries about new tires for the roof. :biggrinjester:

Cool!

I've had a few buddies that built their own say they don't regret it but would never do it again. Several of them about 7-10 years later did it again and said the same thing again.

House Warming Party!!!

Thanks for the compliments guys. I'll post more pics and replies to your questions tonight.
