Thanks Cos...Very good advise. I think we are so used to jumping down and moving around as if we are still in our 20's....I have certainly noticed a difference lately. I still play ice hockey and water ski like I always have but after 40 it seems to get harder to do some of this stuff.:(
BTW, was your surgery arthroscopic? I know up until about 3-4 yrs ago they would try to repair the meniscus, now they just remove what's torn...lack of blood flow does not allow for successful healing and it semms to work better removing it....so far. I guess we will see in several yrs.:ack2:

spilman, depending on which leg ( lead or rear boot) they took the cartilige from and how much of it, your water skiing days may be over. I have about 20% of the cartilige left in my lead ( left) leg knee after 3 scope ops and hitting wakes and waves is brutal. BONE HITS BONE essentially. A ten minute slalom turned into 3 days of sitting and icing to get the the swelling down. I have about 50% left in my right knee but badly tore the ACL in that one so my skiing career, water and snow ended permanently. Matter of fact, I don't skate anymore eother. Doctor said something about "anything that could cause your legs to go in different directions is BAD." I guess I shouldn't have mis spent my youth skiing bumps like an idiot.

Ya mine was artho, and they took out the the blown out men. Mine was caused by water sking every day as a kid untill mid teens, standing at the bolsters and taking to many hits and car wrecks all add up to blown out knees.
