Boynton Beach police arrested four men, including two who were dressed as women, at Home Depot on Wednesday after they used pepper spray on store employees and customers during a robbery, authorities said.

The group was caught stealing at the store on 1500 SW Eighth Street and confronted by loss prevention officers, said police spokeswoman Stephanie Slater.

The men allegedly sprayed the officers as they tried to run away, and in the process several customers were affected by the pepper spray.

The men tried to flee in a red Ford Explorer, but were detained before leaving the parking lot, Slater said.

An elderly woman fainted from the pepper spray fumes and was taken to a nearby hospital, Slater said. It's unclear how many people were affected by the spray.

Fire-rescue workers treated people at the scene as police interviewed witnesses, Slater said.

The suspects will likely be charged with armed robbery and aggravated battery, police said.

This thread was worthless without pics. So, instead of cross-dressers, I give you Boynton Beach Police Spokeswoman Stephanie Slater. :)
