Smelling blood Bob and Randy were running fast, playing catch up after a motor bogged on the start. Our spotter gave us updates on them on the run. Scotty B just getting the feel of the course turns it on a little just before turn two (watch roost and accel). Running hard on the inside is almost always a losing proposition at these speeds especially against the hard turning 44 MTI. Knowing they couldnt match our turn ratio's and being gentlemen we gave them plenty of ocean then accelerated and ran the sweeper racing line. Their set up slid them through the roost and put them 8 sec out.. Cat and Mouse from there, broken blower belt on 8 (I believe ended their day) CMS is a fast boat and will be competitive at every race they enter.
I really respect builders like Randy S and John Cosker for getting in their big cats and pushing them with us. When I'm trying to describe challenges at big racing #'s they understand from first hand knowledge and can offer real help solving the challenges of controling our race boat. Thats something most builders just cant offer.
The 44 MTI was retired after Sarasota and the Mystic is being on deck for Michigan City.
