I'm drinking a beer watching mud racing on Speed and Swamp Buggy racing popped into my head... I think it was on the American Sports Cavalcade on TNN. I still don't know what a "Sippie Hole" is, but that phrase is permanantly buried in my brain!

Anybody remember it? Do they still do it?

i remember that. i always wanted to go, but never did. a "sippie hole" is the real deep part where if you're not going fast enough you'll sink.

Loved it!! The first think I thought when I read to the title of the thread was........ The "sippie hole"............

loved that, back when tnn used to have Neil bonnetts show called winners.. the sippi hole was named after a Mississippi mud hole in the swamp, it meant that you couldn't see it as you were running along and it jumped out at ya... yes, I am fluent in redneck...:03:

I think everyone that saw the thread title and knew what swamp buggy racing was thought the exact same thing. :D

I remember when it started after a few seasons the original property was sold to some developers and the swamp was drained and reproduced in detail at another location. Gainsville to Naples or something like that? Some of those buggys hauled azz! that was the kinda sport i could watch. :D

hmmmm . . . how bout we get that boat from over at Fischers. . . mount that on a 4x4 chassis . . . . viola! . . . best of both worlds. :sifone:

A boat AND a racecar at the same time! Now you're talkin'! Because you can't spend money fast enough with a boat OR a racecar and just lighting a big pile of money on fire doesn't prove enough of an opportunity to yell at your friends! :D

well not enough of one . .. it was named after Sippy Morris, one of the founders of the sport . . . but yes that does describe it :D

Can we put some sprint jet boats in the water for show befor the swamp races ??? could be fun

Now THAT would be a show! I'm in, I have to go to Napels some time this winter to see my parents anyway, I'm pretty sure I can get both those birds with this rock.

Speed actually showed some mud-bog racing yesterday which was quite similar to the swamp buggy racing I used to watch. But instead of huge custom built buggies, they race regular trucks they've modified.

It was a Lucas Oil "On the Edge" show.
