Alright, the season is winding down for most.
It's the time of year for some winter reading. What are you're favorite boating books, or stories to read??
King of Thunderboat row is good, but it's more of a coffee table book with great pictures.
I like SeaRace, and it has incredible statistics of the races over the years.
Stories are what I'm after.
"Betrayed" is a good one. Author Terwilliger.
"Turning the tide" - Kirkpatrick
I have a copy of "The Island" but haven't read it yet.
I recall an old article (mid 80's) in one of my Father's BOATING mags about a guy that was in the gulf in a "go-fast" that happened upon a group of bags of "square grouper", and brought them aboard, only to decide to "turn them back to the wild" after he realized what he was getting himself into.
I've been searching for that article, but haven't had any luck finding it.
I love the old stories, and the stories about some of our boats, and the history of the the dark side of this sport.
Who has stories to share??
I know my boat has supposed history indirectly, (A previous owner was a dealer or something) but don't know if the boat had any involvement.
Anyone have anything to share, or suggestions of good winter reads?
