The American public didn't put Nanct Pelosi in power.
She's a member of the House of Representatives. Her congressional district is the California 8th. It's part of the city of San Francisco. That's right. The Mayor of San Francisco represents a larger constituency than Nancy does. There are fewer than 700,000 people in the 8th and as with most elections, not everyone votes. She won the seat with fewer than 200,000 votes.
You become Speaker by being around a while and having enough power among your colleagues to inspire them to vote for you.

She didnt get to power because of the American public.
She represents a group of voters smaller than the Mayor of San Fran.

But she took on the best you guys had to offer, the giant powerful Republicans, all the brain power, street smarts, gamemanship as well as your Queen from Alaska........and she fkn ate you up and spit you out.

Her constituency voted her in, like it or not they are the American Public. If the American public didn't vote Democrats into power this wouldn't be an issue.
The question is, how did she beat them. What did they offer to everyone to get the votes, money, power, special titles.......? She and OB gave them all something and I can guarantee we will all be paying for that also. It doesn't take smarts to buy someone out, it just takes money. From what I have seen that is no object to them.

Who cares how she did it??
She had legislation passed that no one else could get done.
According to her detracters she accomplished passing a piece of law that will cost the public trillions, and she did it in the year of the worst economic climate the USA has EVER seen.
Sort of tells you that the opposition blew it.

I'm making the point that the lady is no dummy.
I hate politics.
Dont trust any one of them. The fact that a goodly portion of them are lawyers is a big part of the reason.

Its the first day in a year I've been able to post re American politics without being told to FO because I'm Canadian.
Its been a social experiment................and you all passed.
