Cool Rick. ;) On your year engine, how much will the 300 ECU give you, horsepower-wise?

Not sure if the 300ECU will give any actual HP without other mods?? It will change the timing, and up the rev limiter(which I am just touching now at WOT, at 5800). What I really need to do bump it way up is 300 Promax heads, lightened flywheel, poppet diverter, etc. but that is all $$, the 300Promax heads would be a good investment, but then I gotta up the octane, and this thing is already thirsty. I met Shaun Torrente at the sandbar this weekend, that is his 28 Skater I am rafted to, he builds 3 litre's down in Miami, and I will have him do the flywheel for me, and maybe do a minor cut on the heads(so I don't have to go all the way to 92 octane), and install the solid mounts I already have, then I will do the reeds, intake spacer, and poppet diverter. What got me my RPM, and speed back was jacking the motor one notch, and come to find out there is a little screen in the fuel pressure regulator that the manual doesnt tell you about, when this clogs up with crap, the fuel pressure goes thru the roof, causing a rich condition, mileage and RPM go down:eek: I cleaned it once before the keys a few weeks ago, and noticed increased fuel mileage, but at that point the motor was too low, and couldnt take full advantage of it. Cleaned it again(just for good measure, didnt find anything visible this time), and brought the motor back up a notch. The reason the motor was so low to begin with is that the first time out with new transom/bracket etc. I was overheating, and thought I was too high, so I lowered the motor all the way, but it turned out to be a bad thermostat, runs cool as a cucumber now:hurray:

Yeah, looks like everyone had a good time. Nice boating area with beautiful water too. Boat looks sharp Rick, keep up the good work! :sifone:

Great shots Rick.

It's a whole different boating world on the West Coast of FL.

Thanks,

yeah, once you figure out where you can and cant run, its wide open, no speed limits, and a nice 6" - 1' chop, just enough to get the hull out of the water, 20-30 miles WOT(OK, back off to 1/2 throttle every 5 miles for long enough to grab another beverage):reddevil:
