Another Idiot With a Gun

Another Idiot. Yes.
With a gun. Yes.

"Another idiot with a gun" could be read differently by lawful, reasonable gun owners.

Yep.
Why is it when a KILLER kills somebody with a gun, it's called "gun violence,"
but if a KILLER kills somebody with a knife, a baseball bat, or a hammer, it's called "violence?"

Guns can't be violent. The gun is an inanimate object. It has no morals, good or bad.
It has no consciousness whatsoever. They didn't commit the violence, just like they didn't walk a little old lady across the street.

If guns by design are violent, blame the designers: Humans.

In my family, guns are good.
In my family, KILLERS are bad.

In my family guns are thought of as good. The kid next door to my uncles decided to kill his family with a baseball bat. The sister got away and over to my uncles. When he herd what was happening, he got a rifle and went into the house. He held the punk at gun point until police arrived. The mother was not lucky she died from her injuries, but he saved the Father and daughter.

A gun is a tool - a powerful tool like so many that we use. Oddly I don't see them as good or bad no more that I see my chainsaw as god or bad. Useful, yes, dangerous, yes - possessing the moral characteristics of good or bad? nah.
