That is Guy Lamotta's boat. I think he gave it to his son a few years ago.

The boat was originally built for a Major League ball player from NY....hence the color scheme.

The boat was built in that era when Don was working with Hal Halter and they merged the two companies together, Cigarette and Squadron XII. So you have a 39 Squadron being built as a Cigarette ......and that was the same time that Mark McManus originally started there too, so somewhere on the boat is a sign or plaque...Built by Don Aronow, Rigged by Mark McManus.

It is a 39 Squadrette. Guy has been approached many times to sell and when it gets down to decision time, he always ends up keeping it. Very nice boat. Guy has a dark green Cigarette at the same marina, called Dry Martini.

Interesting info!!! Yes, the boat was out of the water for quite awhile until he fixed it up a bit and finally launched it weeks ago, he took Dry Martini out early and replaced it with the 39' "Squadrette".... yes.. Guy is a really nice person, took me for a ride on "Dry Martini"

As far as your info goes, on Guy's other boat, what engines/drives does it have??? are there any other boats like it??? Does MarcMcManus have an account on here?

Aren't you the young kid that was at the NYC Poker Runs and Hall of Fame awards this year? You were doing up something with info on Guy there....you should have all the info on this stuff already, what's up?

Young man, I'm sure we all want to encourage any young fans out there about offshore racing and boating, but please don't kill us with nonsense and questions that you already have the answers to.

If you need honest info, there are many here that can help. Add what you can and read with interest, you will learn a lot. I remember that you are about 15 years old. No problem, just read the info and enjoy the ride.

Yes, that was me. I do know alot about Guy and his boats, but not everything. I have his email, but I never get a response from him.

I would appreciate if this thread on teamspeed not be displayed here, as I dont want to cause any trouble here.

I know you don't want to start any trouble, but somehow it seems to find you.

I stuck up for you a number of times before and I'm willing to give it one more try. You probably remember all the old advice so I'll summarize...

1. Think before you post.

2. After you type your post, stop, then go back and read it. If it sounds like bull$hit, don't hit the post button. If it sounds like a joy post, don't hit the post button. if it's silliness or time-wasting of others, don't hit the post button. If it sounds like a time waster, don't hit the post button.

Here's a good example- "... one of my buddies, Guy..."

If he's your buddy, ask him.

Your biggest mistakes all revolve around the same thing- you stop acting like an eager kid and start posting like an adult. When that urge overcomes you, step away from the keyboard. If you do that, you'll be welcome here.

That boat was owned by Charlie Wetson the hamburger franchise family.I worked on the engines in that boat.Nice piece
