I rent a home here in SW Florida, we pay more that we should be right now but we enjoy living in a nice home in a nice neighborhood, anyways the fridge died tue, so landlord shows up says he will buy a new one no problem, well today new fridge shows up and it is a 18 cu ft apartment model, other fridge was 23 cu ft with an icemaker, I am pissed, the opening in the cabinets has almost a foot of space around the fridge, not only does it look ridiculous but we have not been grocery shopping in two weeks and the damn thing is already full, it has two drawers in the bottom instead of four and we have all kinds of stuff to make for the holidays and I am going to have nowhere to put it, is there any action I can take if he does not remedy the situation, I will be calling him this afternoon. :boxing_smiley:

I would assume that items present at the time of signing should be replaced with appliances of similar size and nature. Anything in the lease about appliances? I say call the guy out on it. Would probably take awhile to clear up in court. You may have to buy your own and take it with you when you leave.

If I were your landlord I would come remove the new smaller fridge and replace yours with one like you had... A big old one. You can find a big old one for like 100 bucks.

yup and then take it when you move, if he wants it then sell it to him..
what pisses me off the most is he is deaf so the appliance store called me, because they could not understand him, I gave them the measurements and told them if anything the 23 cu ft was to small for the opening, and then I found out when they deliver it, he paid seven hundred for this thing, I call appliance direct up in Ft myers, where I told him to go, they have 23 cu ft with icemaker for 580.00, I have not spoken with him yet, am waiting for him to get home

Return it, get the $700, go get the $580 one, send me 1/2 the savings and go blow the rest on beer. Promise I'll do the same with my 1/2....
