Dont think so....that boat runs 71-72 on its best day. Todds boat was probably the truest P-5 boat out there with APBA. Today it wouldnt even be competitive in P5. He would finish the race though.

Believe me I remember Todd and the boat all too well, I was being a smart a$$ as my Fountain only has a tiny ole 500 EFI(sealed) as well and I was forced to run in P4, I mean fair is fair, if my 26' 10" boat with a 500 is put in P4 then so should a 28' Pantera with a 500. Whats good for the goose should be good for the gander! I think the world of Pantera's but I cant see my Fountain as being 15 mph better. Its faster, but 15 mph faster????

I don't know how fast and where they should be running, but I must say that cut down 30 must be a fun, fast boat. :sifone:

Not to bore you with details, but yes it was challenged and the bottom line response was 2 choices 1)race in P4 2)don't race
After full disclosure with the sponsor, it was determined to still race to make a showing, which thankfully it has turned into bigger and better things.

You know first hand my intentions as does Bruce from discussions approx 6 mths ago. If Mika is interested, everything has a price, he knows how to get in touch with me if he cares to discuss further. Its not a fire sale by any means, but for approx 15,000 I can convert it over to a true pleasure 29 Fever and go Poker running. Maybe Bruce can loan me 2-3 of his girlfriends so some beauty will be on the boat:sifone:

No Trent it´s just good as it is right now. I´m more of an oldschool guy and Fountains don´t fit the picture, but if I get someone else interested then I´ll contact.

91 with a bone stock 500efi??? Sounds far fetched to me. 87 I believe in full kilo setup. But what good is top speed if you cant do it with race setup? That boat is a handful against competition in sloppy conditions.

I remember St Cloud 2004. Frank and Trent ran P-4. The wind was blowin and water was snotty. We were running P-5 and passed them like they were standing still.

I think it was 87.?? ??? But anyhow you are correct in race set up he gets his A$$ handet,,,,even from my old Aero-tek if i could only make it stay together.LOL

PS.: It was Little Reggie's E class boat with original a 496 ci running the Kilo @ 89. one way and 86. the other way.
But the boat at one point did over 90 just not official.

Factors:
1) 25 degrees
2) 150 lbs under F1 regs
3)31 Hydro twisted down to 30.5(took 5-10 minutes to get on plane)
4)took approx 4 miles to get to that speed
Its about as official as any Mike Fiore fastest vee speed
