Don't know if you have the "IN", but USAA is hands down the best. Unbelievable rates and truely the international leader in customer service.

Paradox can't get USAA.

I have it and remember even though he has an impressive service history didn't meet the criteria.

Grrrrrrr..
Mark is right.. That's what ole' age gets yaaaa.

I been out of the "game" to long and I didn't have USAA at the time.

Edited... 6:00 PM. I just called USAA, just to see what's the scoop. They pulled up my record,, and wow.. all of the sudden they were extrimely nice.. (and actualy they were nice before to) but no go.. lol. It's all gov. BS and "logistics in operations" stuff. Non military..techinically.. I remember long ago "they" were promising me that I won't be "in harms way". must have been some early politicaly correct term.. Yet .. I'm dodging more "millitary equipment" then trying to cross the street in New York during rush hour.
Anyway.. thanks for the tought.. but wrong "division".. (or gov. branch) I guess "inteligence" and "operations" to keep it "politically correct" :) doesn't count.. :(

oh well.. Geico it is... can't deni me for being involved with boating..

For those of you with USAA, have you compared your rates lately?

I had USAA for all of my insurance for about 10 years. Over the last few, I noticed my homeowner's creeping up to the point where it started to piss me off. Made few calls and now have my cars with Liberty Mutual, and the house and personal articles with Allstate.

Both of them beat USAA's rates SUBSTANTIALLY, for the same or better coverage. I didn't want to change, since USAA's customer service is outstanding, but the difference was just too much to ignore.

I'm not knocking USAA at all...just don't assume (like I did) that they are the best deal.

I am a 15-20 year member of USAA. Seems what they keep in house can't be beat, what they sub out not so great.

Example being USAA offers RV coverage but they sub it out. Progressive cut USAA's rate in half with better coverage (I know- try to collect is a different story).

Paradox- you try Progressive? I've had good luck with them in pricing but haven't ever had to make a claim either (hear they aren't very good in that dept..)

Progresive gringes,, stutters .. cries. when they see or hear my name. They insured the old Avanti, when it was fliped and paid out some. THe insurance policy was 2 days old when the boat was distroyed.
Now.. when I call them for some reason.. I can hear them gasping for air...
So I just call for a laugh when I need one.

Looks like Harthford got the best auto rates for my neck of the woods.

If you own some acreage with your home check out your Farm Bureau. Their rates beat everyone else that quoted me for Home and auto, tractor was cheap too.:)

Cant remember the acreage requirment but it was fairly low, maybe 1.5 or so.

We have everything, House, Cars, Cig through State Farm and could not be happier. Shopped around last year and no one could get close to the rates SF had us at.

I have Travelers for auto insurance. Tried to find a lower rate ( Geico + 500, AIG + 600, Farmers + 300, State Farm +300) so I changed the policy from daily driver to pleasure use and up my deductible and that helped in savings.
