Free Therapy. Is there such a thing?

My sister-in-law wants to check into group therapy.

She has anger and depression issues. Non-violent, but issues.

She is having a tough time, but doesn't wanna put off trying to find support.

Any ideas where to look for community(read free) therapy or group sessions?

Maybe a university or something? She is here in Palm Beach and maybe FAU has some?

My parents offered to help them pay, but she insists on trying this first.

try county mental health, they may have something or be abe to refer to a private who uses a sliding scale payment system. They ten to like you to pay something, even if it is just $5.00 a session because it shows commitmet and responsibility

I'm not sure how it works in other states, but I would assume it would be kind of like Ohio. Anyway, the public mental health/behavioral health centers charge a sliding scale based on your income and ability to pay. If you can't pay at all, they will try to set you up with Medicare to cover it.

My company designs software for these types of agencies in Ohio. I'm not really familiar with the payment structures out of the state though as we are just Ohio based.

A non-profit organization specializing in Mental Health care is what she is looking for. Her ability to pay will determine who can see her. I'll get additional ideas from my wife tonight.

A quick Google search came up with this organization. They are listed a non-profit with many locations in FL.
