Funds Brave restore thread

I come on these websites to look at pictures of boats and learn stuff. I couldnt care less about the nonsense.

I'm just glad you said it the proper way, instead of the way it's always said. Drives me nuts when people say "I could care less". Because then, they could care less!!!! And I too come on these sites for the same reason, to learn and share experinces.

FR - looks like the boat is coming along nicely. There are always things that come up with old boats, nothing lasts forever and almost everything will need to be replaced. If that fuel filler hose came out of that boat it clearly needed replaced as well as the tank.

And as far as you truck, personally I think you went overboard for the boat...but I've also never heard anyone say "I wish I bought a smaller truck"...better to have too much than not enough.

if you dont want to be involved in the crap why dont you stop posting about it and ignore it?

Great point. Was having a chitty day and would have preferred to strangle a couple of people but they were poking the bear from hundreds of miles away. My arms are long, but not that long.

Should have ignored the miserable rather than joined them.

Thanks for the comments.

On the subject of the restoration, I am totally comfortable with the needs that the boat had when I bought it. I never complained that I had been ripped off or anything. I just started getting hammered pretty hard by pm and on the bashing site as soon as I mentioned the fill tube. Apparently it was interpretted as a mortal attack by the prior temporary owner.

It was a no brainer. $60.00 and 3 minutes to install. Glad to have that rotten tank out too. Happy to match a new tank with new power.

Great feeling to have a classic boat with new guts.

Some miserable loser on the internet doesn't know that I bought my parts in cash, and own them all out right. Always have. I don't know why my finances are anybody else's business though. Maybe in the next witch hunt they are going to expose me for being annoying, yet brutally honest. I owe nobody. I paid as I went. Nobody financed anything but me. I have nothing but receipts paid in full. Anybody who says otherwise is a liar as well as a loser.

That's a nice looking pile-O-stuff! :cheers2:

Haven't been to the bashing site in a long time, so don't really know what it's all about.

John, glad to hear you're getting close.
Look forward to seeing some on water pics. I'm jealous.

Yeah. I shouldn't have gone either. You know me. I am a crappy victim. :D
But the dork who sold me the boat got so bent out of shape over this thread that he started sending me nasty pms and then posting my pms back to him on the bashing site. On his old thread.... that I haven't posted on since August. :D

When the shakedowns are over, we will look at calendars and get you up here. :cheers2:

I need to make it back up there for MANY reasons.
It's just not in my current forecast until Fall, and that would be to haul a 2nd boat out here to the desert. Time is going to be limited.
I was always used to having 3-4 weeks off from work in the bank.
New job. Not sure what I'm going to have to do for the time off to haul out, and haul back...
And then, what am I gonna do with this boat when I get it here...

Looking good Fundy. When it comes to gasoline and boats, it's better to be safe than sorry. I actually knew a guy that blew the hatch off of his boat at the gas dock. Although no one was hurt, the law was not impressed and didn't let him have his boat back for a while. See you on the water soon, Ian.

Looking good Fund. Nice truck too. I saw a nice big rig for sale only 25K that would have been better for pulling that brick we call a boat:cheers2::cheers2:

Whats up with the orange cones, you work for Charter Cable now?

No, but I used to. :)

I left the truck/boat out in the street all afternoon. Actually washed it out there, ghetto style. It's a quiet street, but I was facing the wrong way and our law enforcement is opportunistic. I find that if you look official... you get away with most stuff. ;)

Plus, it kept the old ladies over to the other side as they drove past rubbernecking. :D
