It's official: The USA is in a recession

they admit we are in a recession as we border on depression, they will admit the depression as we are in the midst of the comming revolution. clean the barrels and stock the ammo..it will be bloddy but this country will one day be of the people by the people and for the people again. mind you we wont start it, it will be from the inner city as the govt goes broke and the welfare, foodstamps and govt cheese comes to a halt.

The highways and the malls and the restaurants were packed to the gills this last weekend here in the rust belt. Maybe we've just learned to adjust- recession came in the early 70's around here and it's never left. We just ignore it anymore- you should try that.

theres like 3 empty abandoned large malls around here. I also heard on the news yesterday (yes the sky is falling news) that a lot of malls etc are loosing everyday revenue to the point that theymay go under. the malls were packed the other day because everybody got shiny ads in the paper that screamed 80% off. Those prices will get people in the door, but they aren't going to generate much profit.

Ok, we are "officially" in a recession ..... DUH.

Do we need the news to tell us this ? Why do we really need the news anyway ?

Yea yea- if you wanna get all technical and stuff.

Microeconomics is a branch of economics that studies how individuals, households and firms and some states make decisions to allocate limited resources.

On a macroscale most peoples microeconomics show that they are broke and the ones that aren't just don't know it yet (have some credit left).

Or you can use the old method, of if it smells like it and tastes like it then it is:biggrinjester:

My buddies beach restaurant is down huge this month and so is my other buddies very sucessful watersports bus.I don't know anybody down here that is doing good.

They chit canned 36 people at the Naples Daily news where my girlfriend works as the food writer last week. The only reason she didn't get the ax is she doesn't make chit ,they canned all the older expensive people. All raises are frozen which she was supposed to get a substantial transition raise soon but now is just happy to have a job.

I have been doing repair on 2 houses that are owned by some very wealthy Swiss for the last 2 years but i have lowered my hourly because they have some new Azzhole that oversees the main house who wants to bring in some people he knows for less and he will make a cut on it.

I had to set them down and remind them that a lot of the repairs i am doing are corrections from shoddy workmanship the 1st time.Helps that they are very picky and so am I.But things are changing.I was going to go spend some bucks so i had the writeoff for the year but thinking i might be better off with the cash inmy hands.

Cummins Marine layed off 38 of roughly 100 people in No. Charleston SC last friday, including the President(!) who has been there since 1972. They are expecting sales off by 80% year to year and plan on a loss for up to 5 years. Maybe.

As far as the recession, whoever is in charge of calling it should be shot. If you didnt see it in July of '07 please do us all a favor and don't get involved in American business

I have more work than I can handle right now, and I am working on several contracts for next year. I see it coming to a stop though. I just had a large project cancel already and another hotel is starting to look like it will follow suit. Everyone is having difficulty getting financing, which is going to kill my business.

My business has weathered 2 previous recessions, but this one . . . . I'm not sure we can make it. I have cut expenses to the bone, but people are not spending - if they do, they shop on line instead of supporting local business.
I pray to God the business survives.

One could say the same of the government as well. They're the guy's telling us all was well the past two years. Most people kept saying WTF when they heard it.

Good luck Bill!

I shop local as much as I can. Wal-Mart is packed all day every day with 3 cashiers on duty and the people in line wondering b1tching they have to wait so long- service or price; can't have both. The people have spoken- they want the lowest price no matter how crappy the service is.

for the first time in my life I am ashamed of our new president, o'bama and hillary will make "o'billary" what a sad time for this country, hunker down folks , it'll be a long four years.
