What's Happening
Had a couple minutes to chat with Jimmy Shane after the Hall of Champions banquet. He had a tremendous year, and is just as humble accepting awards as he has always been.
As he gave his acceptance speech he made a very good point, he had to fill a very large pair of shoes when he decided to accept the drivers seat in the Unlimited Hydroplane that has been just as dominate lately as those others of the past we all recall. It is the modern day Atlas Van Lines or Miss Budweiser. Plus, stepping into the shoes of Steve David, who may be the Ambassador of Unlimited Racing, makes the challenge even greater.
But, so far anyway, Jimmy has done an outstanding job. Getting the National Championship, and winning the elusive Gold Cup that has eluded the Oberto team for so long, makes for one heck of a season.
