Need some info,Interesting old boat

So now after talking with him he says that Sea Bird had gotten the tooling for just afew hulls from Don A. I don't have a clue on weather this is true or not and really don't want to start any B.S. over it. It does look like a Pantera to me, I just want to know the build quality so I might have to find someone to look at it I guess.

having someone look at it might not do much good. It looks real good in the pics, but what really needs to be checked is Transom, Stringers, motor comp. etc. From the looks of the pics of the stringers etc, it is built well. I may be a dummy, but did Don A. ever make a 7' beam boat??

I was just looking through the owners gallery at pantera boats, and turns out some of the boats do have the fuel fill on the side like that, and a similar windshield without the aluminum frame. Wonder if Pepe or Joe knows why my fuel fill is in the top of the deck??

two things that are throwing me off though is

1, The fuel fill on the side of the boat, mine is in the deck, on top, in front of the windscreen, but ScottyB's newer 24 has it on the side like that??

2, Pantera winshields had an Aluminum 3/4" or 1" box tubing frame with glass in them??

The fuel fill may be a race boat thing. My 24 has it on the deck too. Plus a sealed up hole and tunnel for another fill on the other side. Tim's boat had it in the back.

The OB 24 in Buffalo has the lexan style windscreen. I kind of dig it. Tim, might be an idea for you? Looks kind of "Magnum"...

Well,

Mine must have been a raceboat from the factory, or someone is REAL good at sealing up the hole in the side, cuz I couldnt find it. Maybe it will show up when I cut the deck to replace the Transom soon:ack2:

Yah, the starboard hole on mine is on the deck too. Pepe tole me my was a factory race boat. There's holes for the compasses that have been seal up in the deck as well.

Make sure when you do the transom replacement you take lost of pics and post the project on the site! I hate that you have to do it, but I'd love to see it progress!

Dunno, that's how I got it... Lot of weight on the cabin floor, in rough water? It does have a big ass deck hatch on it... Wonder what Mike thinks... ha ha ha :sifone:

That is one of a thousand copies of the Harry Schoell 23' Magnum, built as a twin engine racer for Doc Magoon.

Looks like the cat's out of the bag. I always wondered if the Pantera sport deck was made original by Pantera in 1974. I know the 24 hulls were copied all over, but thought the deck was original Pantera. Doesn't matter...still the baddest looking 24 ever! If you think about it, this boat has stood the test of time. This boat was started around 1966-67 (according to Brownie). It hasn't changed it's look since. Superboat and others have added steps to there 24, but not Pantera...it IS the ORIGINAL, CLASSIC 24! Classic v-hulls don't need steps. Pepe and Jo, yours it the ORIGINAL...don't change a thing!:cheers2:
