Our mayor died today. He was driving down the road Sunday afternoon in our Blizzerk and had a cardiac arrest. He rolled up to a light pole and slumped over, foot on gas, SUV in gear. Two random members of the great unwashed happened upon him and called 911, broke a window, put the car in gear, turned it off, dragged him out, gave him CPR until the EMTs arrived. EMTs got a rhythm on the third shock and hauled him to the hospital down the street. Family pulled the plug this afternoon, seemingly right after the visitors stopped coming.
Nice to know that people literally on their way to work the drive through have the inclination and ability to try to save someone. Not knowing it was the mayor.
