Powerquest Fun Run, August 16, 2014

Yes I did as soon as we left boat werks and made it to the no wake he turned around and was giving me the warning for everyone I guess it's a no wake all the way for the bigger boats

They would be mistaken if that is what they said;

Blue is no restrictions, other than the Michigan State Law of 55 MPH for inland lakes. Yellow is No Wake for boats 26' and over. Orange is No Wake for all boats. Green is No High Speed for anyone between 6:30 in the evening and 10:00 in the morning.

Now I wish I would have followed Loose Cannon in a little farther towards Holland, these are great.

Thanks Funhoffs for having a great idea and sticking with it. Thanks to Serious, Doug, and Darryl for coming out and doing such a professional job and write up! To everyone else, way to make it a fun and SAFE outing.

You were out quite a ways on the way down. We were running back and forth, in and out, to try and get what we could. Here's a couple of you heading north after lunch. You were still quite a way off, I don't know if Pete got any or not. He's on his way to LOTO so has not had much time to review his stuff yet.

i got stopped back there a few years ago. sheriff said don't do it again, showed us where the marks are(man they are small), and said hope to see you here again. that was very nice of them.

quick plug to the PQ crew and paul and pete for some great pics. nice work on putting that together, i know it is a ton of work. i think it was a great turn out for the first one. what a great place to do it also a whole fleet of PQ's coming home to holland. wanted to run the am run down with you guys but i still needed to get a few things done to the boat, and it was way to cold for me. got the old crew out witch was nice. the last time we ran together was 6 years ago to muskegon in some good water and 10 years before that. they had a blast as did i. owning a baron where it all began i have a soft stop for PQ's and was really looking froward to this. that water running back up was very nice and the precision power offshore cig ran great all day. we got up by rosie mound and idled back in from there and watched everyone hod rod by. very cool. hope you guys do another run next year, i would love to join in again. and maybe bring the baron out to the raft off.

Had a chance to chat during lunch, he made a couple of passes after. I really like the wave. Reminds me of the Parade Marshall in the back of the convertible........:sifone:

So I hear this guy is a crazy man? You can tell it's not as rough because the middle passenger only has one hand on the windshield to stay in the boat. :)

Rumor had it the boat had issues with the steering passages through the transom and the boat almost sank the previous weekend. And, he was fixing the issue in the AM before the run, plus added a bigger bilge pump. Love it!!!!! If you look at the earlier shots on the way down, he was flying, (two hands on the windshield speed). Wish I had a chance to interview the three of them. The boat has twin smallblocks with Alphas?

Yes the 1993 270 laser is owned by justin that boat dose not see water spends most of the time with the props in and hull out lol as seen in the pictures I seen him flip a u turn to go back for pictures and if I would of caught on I should of done the same are you headed to travers city this weekend

Pete got a great photo of him on the way down. Light was great in the AM for boats on the lake side of us instead of the land side. Plus, Pete's a photographer where as I take pictures. I have almost the exact same shot, just not as crisp and the props aren't spinning in mine (frozen in time). It's a tough shot to get where the boat's in sharp focus, the water is blurred showing speed, and the props are spinning.....

I will not make Traverse. Unfortunately we have a business event with my wife's company Saturday evening.

Thanks to everyone responsible for putting on this event and a special thanks to Pete for the great pic's!!!! We had a great time and hope this event takes place again next year!!!
