Remington R-15 vtr

.

I dont like the camo. AR's should be black and scary in order to optimize the time it takes a liberal to peepee his panties when he sees it.[/QUOTE]

For you guys wanting Rock River, call Legal Transfers, Pete is taking orders but only if you are willing to wait. From what I can tell he isnt really gouging like many others are right now, but your still gonna wait.

We went on a roadtrip tonight, I picked up the 308 I've been looking for. B&T Shooting in Lorain has DPMS AR's in a 16 inch barrel for $759. BUT the uppers don't have the brass kick, or a forward advance. Still a great gun and I would buy one. B&T in Middlesburgh Heights has two DPMS, one in a 20 bull and one in a 24 bull. Another place to call is Stocker's in Youngstown, OH, they have about 7 or so in stock, a few S&W M&P's. They are getting scarce, like Thrill said, if you find one you want buy it. If you want one of the one's around here I know a FFL that will ship and I'll be happy to help you out.

pics please

The only one I could find-

The rifle is down at the shop- I'm making a gas tube for it- or I should say, I've been making a gas tube for it for about 4 months, here & there. What I'm really doing is bodifying a steadyreast so I can turn one on the lathe without bending it.

Found another-

Barrel is an ABS carbon-fiber piece that I had made. It started off with a Mike Rock 5R benchrest barrel about an inch in diameter. It was turned down in a lathe, over a mandrel, to just slightly larger than the bore diameter, then wrapped in carbon. They called it the "truck axle" as it was the largest diameter they'd ever made. It's 1.1" O.D. Caliber is something I created- it's a 300 WSM case necked down to 6.5MM and some work on the shoulder. Shoots way flatter than a 308 and reaches about as far as a 300 Win Mag. Better energy at 800 than the 308 too.

That's a great deal on the LR. It's best to buy one in-person. I've seen the odd DPMS with receiver/upper fit issues. They're tight, but there's a space. Tony's came direct from the factory with a reamer burr in the chamber- it wouldn't chamber a round and the loaded round would stick and lock the gun up. I'm assuming they resolved that for him. But all in all, they're a great value and a great shooting weapon.

As far as the forward assist, unless you are planning to carry it into battle, you won't miss it. An occasional cleaning will prevent any and all loading-function issues. The brass deflector is also something you can live without. The empties will all be in the same place and they'll be reloadable. I have a couple of HK brass-maulers that render 7.62 casings pretty much unusable- the DPMS isn't as bad but it dings alot of case necks. Watch out if you're shooting at a range of the guy to the right of you. He'll get a brass bath. Pick the station on the end.

You won't find AR's or any other centerfire/shotgun on Cabela's website. At most you'll see muzzleloaders.

Incorrect info...

Go to the search menu and select gun library from the drop down and then type in the type of gun. Or you can leave the search function blank and it will pull up a list on the left hand side or you can select the store by city and see all guns in inventory. You can put in say.223 and see all the guns chambered for that cartridge.

Nice! Doesn't get much better than a Rock barrel. Curious why you changed the shoulder? Would have thought a reamer and dies could be found for a necked down WSM case. Maybe to help feeding?

What bullet are you planning on shooting? Hunting rifle or long range paper puncher?

Going down a degree and a half really tightened the groupings up. I'm moving that bullet really fast. Shooting a 140 gr Berger at 3400fps.

I'm using it for sniper competitions- looking for something out of the ordinary. Everyone shoots bolt guns. I've been tweaking it and I'm shooting just off of 0.3MOA with it. I think I can tune some more on the gun and tweak the load and break 3.

I stand corrected, thanks for the info.

Yeah, they fixed it. And when they say a Jard 2.5lb trigger wont work in a DPMS, they mean it. It fits, it goes bang, sometimes it went bang twice.:ack2: I have the JP in it now and I'm unimpressed, I should have listened and just bought the Geissele first. DOH!
