In light of the present financial crisis, it's interesting to read what Thomas Jefferson said in 1802:

'I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent of their fathers.'

I agreee. If they knew this would happen they would have written the Constitution a LOT different.
 
They would be digusted in what has become of this country, just as most of us are...I am not sure about sh!tting purple twinkies though. :D

if one would reflect on the quotes of franklin, jefferson. washington etc to understand the mindset, the consitution is much easier to understand. after reading some of the qoutes, the 2nd amendment makes a LOT more sense...to paraphrase, the rights of the citizens to keep and bare arms are the only thing to stand in the way of a trynical govt....
 
honestly, the constitution was written fine, its just the lawyer speak that makes people doubt it and the twisting of the words...

More specifically, it's the lawyers that have become judges and those judges imposing their idealism upon us in the form of legislating from the bench.
