If I am not mistaken The original Hustler hull was a Luhrs...... That's the boat that got Billy started in organized racing. Truth be told previous to that he contented himself with having the fastest boats on Lake Hopatcong, NJ. He had quite a collection of unique multi engined outboards....including a wing Switzer and a converted inboard hydro.....with a couch in it!!!!!

T2x

The 26 or 27' Luhrs was owned and raced by Charlie Dore' Around Long Island, and was named Hustler before Billy bought it.

wow roger was so progressive back in the day! he was a true offshore man.
nice to everyone, and a real racer way to go!

The first photo in post #41 shows how Thunderboat Row looked back in the old days....you can see the original Donzi plant over the back of the boat.....the truck is facing the Magnum plant..... and as you can see the combination of Florida rains and the ever present cement trucks, the street was always a mess.

Magnum didn't have a deck mold for that boat, so they went up Biscayne Blvd a bit and had Thunderbird build one of theirs and they brought it back and fit it on the Magnum.
