the info is on its way...........................somewhere

That's the one. It was fully restored to better than new condition for the 50th anniversary Cowes Torquay Cowes race. Mike Bontoft on the port side still owns her. I'm the guy on the starboard. This is a video of the first tests on the Columbia river, and this is a video in England from my helmet cam in the smooth water before we hit the Solent.

Allright, I'm from Portland (closer to Scappoose, but went to Lincoln High), then had two different home outside Vancouver. Did you put in off Marine Drive somewhere, or was that farther upstream? That looks like the 205 bridge, then the hills up above the Marine Park on the Washington side where I used to launch when I lived over there.

One time my brother was driving one of my boats while I was skiing, up by the power lines there he decided to hit a sandbar at about 60...... I was standing just over ankle deep. Luckily it was when the tide was on the way in instead of out.....

We put in west of Longview on the Washington side of the river at Fisher Island. Longview is in the background. That's the Longview bridge.

Okay, now it makes more sense.....

I know stuff has changed a bunch, so I wasn't positive before. I've actually been in a few of those papermills with a friend of mine out there who has a commercial steam-pipe insulation replacement business....

Used to fish out of Gobles with my grandfather in the old days. Not near as much fun as fishing out over the bar though......

Is the boat back out there now?

The boat is in England and will probably stay there. Mike has many contacts there. I'm not sure it will be raced again since it's very expensive just to fill up the tanks. Shipping back would be over $10,000. There's no good reason to run it in the Pacific Northwest. Its main purpose was to run in the 50th anniversary Cowes race. I was very privileged to be a tiny part of the effort.

Talking to one of our members yesterday. We'll do a story on his boat. But it was once owned by a Yankee and we sure Maria's spent the night on it and most likely Gloria too.....

I told him he could probably sell the upholstery when redoing it.....
