Not sure on the dual maps in one ecm, I was told by a top merc guy that there wasn't enough memory to hold two maps. Maybe this was an earlier version of the computer.
It is defineatly not a limp home mode. There aren't that many times when you need the extra power and RPM's of the 1200's. Mostly the first leg of poker runs. This way you don't have to pay for race fuel all the time. Only when you need.
Most people just run there tanks down to empty on the 89, at least on one side and then fill up with 110 and your ready to go to the poker run.Not really a problem at all and you save $1000-$1500 per fill up when you don't really need the 1200's.
Randy just put a set in before the shoot-out and you still have to unplug and plug in the ECM's. Takes less than a minute a side.
They are building some new boats with two tanks on each side. A small one for race fuel and a larger one for pump fuel.
Run hard to the first card stop, Change ECM's and Limp the rest of the poker run at 150
